First you need to sort your clothing into colors(dark), whites, permanent press, towels, etc. I also do my jeans alone. Pay attention to the labels in the clothing to see what wash cycle they need or if they are dry clean only.
Next, put a load in the washer and, depending on the load, choose cold water wash for colors, cold rinse. For whites, use hot wash and warm rinse. Permanent press use warm wash, cold rinse; towels the same. Blue jeans use cold/cold. Use the appropriate amount of detergent for the size of the load (read the box). If you're doing whites and they are really dirty then use the appropriate amount of bleach. You'll want to fill the machine first, add the bleach and detergent, agitate for a minute and then add the whites.
After they have finished washing then put them in the dryer on the setting that is appropriate.
Fold or hang promptly to prevent wrinkles.

Little more detailed... Sort by colors. Whites in one pile, dark and black in another, the rest of the colors, and towels. If you have sheets or comforters, again, another pile. Put all the clothes in the washer and turn it on so the water starts and then add the soap.

If you have a big load of clothes, dry half at a time. This way you don't get wrinkles and it dries much quicker.

First, you sort it. Whites and light colors together, jeans together, delicate fabrics together.

Put each load in separately. Add detergent as recommended on the package. Powdered is best for dirt, liquid detergent is best for body soil.

Set the machine for the cycle you would like; heavy duty for jeans and towels, delicate or hand wash for delicate fabrics, and a normal setting for t-shirts, etc.

Turn it on and let it run.

Good luck!

first you separate the laundry into three sections..... whites, light colors (like greys, pastels etc), and dark colors (like black, blue, green etc..but on the darker side)....start with whichever section you choose ....depending on the size of your loads, you put the appropriate amount of detergent into the wash (read the bottle...it tells you how much) together with the laundry and start the machine....depending on the type of machine you have, you may want to add some fabric softener to the final rinse cycle.....have fun!!!!!!! one more thing...... for your whites you may want to spray some 'SHOUT' on neck collars and underarms and cuffs to get rid of stubborn stains
