It's a puzzle why this team has Lebron, Wade and Carmelo as co-captains. Just because they're hot or did the committee consider the fact that the 3 lost at the worlds basketball championship the last time around? How about having Kidd and Kobe be co-captains? I heard of 2 team captains...but three?

some has partially given me great answers and i've given them thumbs up. none though has given me the one thing i'm looking for why i say J-Kidd should be the captain.

A captain is the one who should lead his team by providing opportunities for his teammates to score and elevating the performance of the team overall. Therefore, Jason Kidd should be entitled to that title. Kobe isn't not a team player, LeBron is still young, and Melo is too selfish.

i feel Kidd should be co captain along with Kobe. They both have much more experience and with this being the USA Men's b-ball team. The team needs to have that leadership and experience to go to when things are clicking for the team as a whole.

Jason Kidd should be the captain. He is level headed and knows how to be a leader. Lebron, Wade, Camelo and especially Kobe have no clue on what it takes to be a leader. Jason does have the right attitude and does not need to generate highlights for the 11o'clock news. As a point guard,Jason makes his teammates better because he knows what is happening on the floor. Jason has no problem with assisting his teammates in making 2 points. Jason's teammates trust and respect him, because they know that he will make the right decision on whom to pass the ball. Jason is the quintessential unselfish team captain, he does not need co-captains nor personal accolades, just a team win. Jason is a leader, winner, team player, hard worker, unselfish, the respect and trust of his teammates. What more do you need in a captain?

YES. Jason Kidd is a true leader. He is like Steve Nash. They are making their teammates better. Absolutely two of the best PG in the league right now and two future hall of famers. Kobe is also a leader. Obviously US is the best team in the world, the team should practice on how to play the international brand of play. KB24 & J-Kidd. BRYAHN18

I would say Kobe but Kobe needs to learn a little bit more of what a true team player is..So for now I think Jason Kidd should be a team Captin for the USA team..He's good all around.

There should be 2 captains. Kobe & Kidd. No1 else. Those are the 2 MOST experienced players on the USA Squad.

I don't think kobe should be the captain. He's just a ball hog. It should be Kidd and Wade as captain. They actually pass the ball.
