My friend asked me a question today and I thought maybe someone on her could help her. She was backing out of her driveway this morning and bumped into a truck that was parked along the road. Nothing happened to her car, but a dent was noticed in the truck she bumped into. She said she didnt know if the dent was already there since nothing happened to her car. She also did not stop and tell her neighbor bc he is a truckdriver and is only home on weekends, but his wife is home every nite. Also she doesnt want her parents to be mad bc she is under their insurance and they are not very understanding. Would you not say anything? or deal with her horrible parents? Any advice for her would be greatly appreciated!

if you already left the scene. then let it be. move on and keep quiet. Or you can go ahead and tell her parents about it since there is no damages.

This is one of those instances where your friend needs to be a grown-up. It's entirely possible that she dented the truck, even though no damage was done to her car. She damaged someone else's property, and if there are consequences to be paid, SHE needs to pay them, not the innocent owner of the truck. She should go tell the truck owner. If he says she caused the dent, and it wasn't already there, then she needs to tell her parents and turn it in to the insurance company.

well first of she broke the law no matter what since it was a hit and run. and it doesn't matter if there was damage or not if she hit it and the dent is there now then she is responsible and should have let the neighbor know. There may not be noticable damage to her car but there still may be damage she can't see. rear end knocked out of alignment, bent rim or other things.

Maybe you don't know this, but leaving the scene of an accident is illegal, what you..er your friend...did, was called a hit and run, and by being to irresponsible to own up to it, she has quadrupled her trouble. Basically, they WILL notice, and I'm sure they are not stupid, they will figure out who did it, and they will come asking. If you claim your parents are "unreasonable" (typical thinking of a kid with your level of maturity), wait till you...I mean..she....has to deal with them after they find out that she was on their insurance and did a "Hit n Run".

Stop acting like a scared 9 year old, if you ...I mean..she... thinks she is old enough to drive a car, then she is old enough to either pay attention or take responsibility for her complete inability to operate a vehicle safely.

Time to own up to it. If the dent in the truck is new, then she is responsible for the damage.

she needs to inform her neighbor that she hit the truck, if someone calls the police she will have a hit and run to deal with

If i'm understanding this precise it appears that evidently such as you have been pulling out of a vehicle park to teach left onto a street. The street is 4 lanes on the two aspects. the two lanes of site visitors closest to you, heading the alternative way of how you have been turning stopped to enable you pull out in front of them to teach. the female that hit you became vacationing interior the third lane over (out of the 4 lanes which you have been crossing in front of to teach)? if it rather is the case than you're at fault. the female that hit you had the main suitable of way. even although the two lanes of site visitors have been waving you on, you nevertheless did no longer have the main suitable of way. it is not proper that her brakes have been going out. I even have worked as an coverage agent for the previous 9.5 years & I even have considered numerous injuries very corresponding to this one. In all of them, the guy who became pulling out in front of site visitors to teach left became deemed at fault. desire this enables.
