Oh sweetie, you are very normal. One minute you will feel on cloud nine, and another minute you are thinking the world is ending. One minute, you want to hug everyone, the kick them. Sometimes this subsides after the first trimester, sometimes it doesn't. Just apologize when you do go off and chalk it up to hormones. Most people will understand. Congrats on the new baby. Think on that, and you will remember to smile no matter what mood you are in. :)

I found out at 4 weeks that i was pregnant and that week was a huge emotional rollercoaster for me. I was riding home on the train from work and reading a funny book. One minute i am laughing at something in the book and within a second the laughter turned to tears and i couldn't stop crying. Of course the more i thought about "is this how it is going to be for the next 8 months" the more i cried.
It is two weeks later and i have not have any episodes like that since. Hopefully that was just the initial hormone surge.

While I would always say that this kind of reaction to something so small is completely irrational, I am inclined to let this one slip as a side effect of pregnancy. The fact that you are concerned about this lets me know that you do realize that this type of behavior is not normal, and you seem repentant about how you handled the situation.
My suggestion would be that you ask your boyfriend to listen to you for a few minutes without talking while you tell him the following:
- you realize that your blowup earlier was irrational and inappropriate
- you believe that it is a result of hormonal imbalance
- you are truly sorry for this action and would not do this under normal circumstances
-this might happen several more times over the next 36 weeks and that you need him to realize that at times you will go a little bit crazy, but that you will later realize that you were acting irrationally and that you will definately apologize for your actions, but for right now, you just need him to ride out your crazy times
The thing is, you need to mean it when you tell him and you need to make sure that when this happens in the future, you will recognize what you have done and apologize for going temporarily insane.
Just a disclaimer: I know nothing about hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, or what can be expected during pregnancy, but if my pregnant girlfriend had just freaked-the-hell-out on me for forgetting to get the right kind of soap and cookies, this is what I would need to hear.

Very normal... I am a very outspoken person anyway, but lately I have had absolutely no trouble speaking my mind... and I am 19 weeks! I wasn't too bad in the beginning, because I was just so sick all of the time. It is just the hormones.. just try to relax and think before you speak when ever possible.

oh my goodness, yes, it is normal. Your hormones are going crazy right now and at times you are going to think you are!!!!! I'm 26 weeks preg. and cry over the smallest things sometimes. You might want to apologize when these things happen, even though he might know it was hormones it's still a nice gesture.

I cried for a week after finding out I was pregnant. You're body is already starting to change, your hormones are out of whack and you're realizing your whole life is about to change. I'd say it's ok to cry ( and freak out at your bf sometimes.) Good luck with your pregnancy.

Of course it's normal. Now that you're pregnant, you have a lot of hormones that may cause you to be irritable. Don't worry about it.

Yeah. You might want to give your boyfriend a heads up about this whole hormonal roller coaster. It can get pretty nasty at times. But it won't last forever.
Congratulations though on your pregnancy!
