Yes I know exactly how that is, I grew up in a community with a lot of Iraqi Americans, most owned party stores, claimed no income, paid no taxes, and lived on government money, and each of their 6 children would get an explorer, expedition, or hummer when they turned 16, and then they'd get another new one when they graduated from high school... yet most of them got free lunch at school. I never understood it. The government is wasting so much money paying for these people, when they do nothing to help the country that's supporting them. Meanwhile my parents can't get me a student loan for college because 'they make too much.' I mean $20,000 a year for college on a 1 person retirement income is not good.

Let me run this by you. I was born in the U.S.A. You were too. I don't think I was destined to be. My parents were born here. So in a way it's not fair that I get all the advantages of being a U.S. citizen just because I was born here. Murderers and rapists born in the U.S. also get to be here even if they commit crimes. You don't hear about them being deported right? Do you think it's more fair for a U.S. born rapist to live here than some farm worker slaving away 10 hours a day cause he doesn't have a piece of paper? Now, say you live in a country where you can't make enough money to eat. You might think it's not your problem. I say, go to one of those countries like I did and see people living in shacks made out of hammered down tin cans. You think if they only try hard enough they can get a job? No way. They are more likely to get murdered. So they do what they gotta do just to survive. So to my mind, the question is irrelevant. Life isn't fair. You just do your best. Besides, how do you know they don't pay taxes? Have you seen their 1040's? Maybe you work for the IRS? When the cashier rings up a sale, do they charge sales tax?

My husband and I talk about this all the time. We live in a community that has brought thousands of South East Asian refugees in over the last 10 or 15 years and they get 7 years tax free. We've both worked since we were in our early teens and we were taxed from the first dollar we made. If they want to enjoy the same benefits they should take all that comes along with it - work their way up just like the rest of us. We're in our late 20's now and still can't afford the cars they get to drive. So, that said - I say TOTALLY UNFAIR!

No, I am frustrated by that fact, but only because Americans should not have to be taxes for working, for living, for owning a house!! Nobody should. I mean, it seems like it's just a part of life because its been going on for so long, but just because something has been happening for a really long time doesn't neccessarily mean it's a good thing.
Think about it: loads of our money is going to defending the country. Well, if governments didn't take so much money from their citizens then we wouldn't have to worry about nuclear threats cause nobody would be able to pay for nuclear weapons. There would be very little debt. less people would be dirt poor. people can pay for food. less death. I could keep going. And yes, I know many people are thinking, ITS NOT THAT EASY! Well, maybe it is that easy. taxes suck. at the very least, getting rid of taxes would make a whole lot of Americans very happy.

It's unbelievably ****** up! Our country in general is so ****** up.
Of course Rosia thinks it's fair! She is obviously an immigrant! That's stupid to say you can go to another country and do the same because america is pretty much the only country where you CAN make a ton of money without paying taxes and screwing over the economy! That's why everyone comes HERE to do it instead of us going to other places and doing it!

Totally unfair! everyone who works in this country should have to pay taxes. those that work here w/o paying taxes put more of a burden on those of us that do work and pay taxes. It is hard to get by these days, even on a decent wage...

If you are or become a member of the U.S. you should have the same penalties and rules as everyone else, otherwise you can't call yourself a true citizen. People who don't pay taxes are immitating citizens, they aren't the real deal.
