i don't know about last, but they sure keep throwing stuff at the troops.
added. on a serious note, there seems to be an everchanging definition as to who the "bad" guys are. first the Sunnis,so we backed the Shiites. then Al Sadr and the Mahdi militia,so we backed the Badr brigade. made a truce with Al Sadr and the Badr Brigade was bad. Al Sadr is bad because some members left his group. Support the Sunnis because the Shiites are causing problems. throw out the name insurgents,al qaida and Iran, occasionly to make folks think we are fighting a war on terror, then we support MEK.

According to Bush and Co they have been in their "last throes" for years now. However seeing as how "insurgents" are not terrorists and are citizens fighting to protect their homeland and what they see as an invasion by the US they will never stop until we are gone.

"insurgents"
a term made up by the conservatives.
I no longer believe "insurgents" are responsible for all the bad in Iraq.
I still believe and have always believed that the key to continued US presence in Iraq is to kill as many Iraqis as possible so that they will eventually ALL flee. All of the killing is not being done by "insurgents" or "al quaeda" or any other group of factional fighters.
Where to bombs come from?
certainly not Iraqis or Iranians....

I agree with the first poster really. I mean, what would Americans do if the tables were turned? Defend the land of course, but we wouldn't consider ourselves insurgents, god forbid, we are "freedom fighters". Yes, freedom fighters, of course!
Yeah, right.

"Again?"
When were they in "their last throws" before?
They can't possible win militarily - so they constantly recruit people who buy into their terror tactics as though they are winning - they can win a public relations battle by constantly feeding the anti-war zealots in this country with terror attacks (mostly) against their own citizens - and you're buying into their strategy - hook, line and sinker.
It's really quite simple - we can win this war or we can lose this war. If we win, we will have established another ally in the Middle East. But if we lose, do you really think the Islamic militants will give up their terror tactics if they prove successful? Do you think they are capable of keeping their hatred and blood lust confined within their own borders? Think they won't attack the United States again if they are victorious?
Give it some serious thought before you casually dismiss the threat this ideology presents to all free nations.
