Yes and I remember when I had to get up to change the channel on the huge box TV and reheat leftovers on the stove, those were the days...

Yes, I do. I have only been on the internet for the last year or so. I remember a time when I went to the library to do research and asked my questions there. Now when my little granddaughter has questions about Dinosaurs or chameleons, I just tell her, 'Let's look that up and see what we can learn.' I have come to enjoy this library open at all hours. It has even given me the necessary legal tools to fight what I am fighting right now. It has given me the necessary tools to understand the disease I have and to manage it better so that I reduce the impact. I can talk to people all around the world and I have found that all my new friends that I have made through here are every bit as important as the friends I have just down the street. When they hurt, I hurt. When I am feeling scared, they listen to me. I remember the 'olden days' before internet, but I like what I have now.

Ha ha, my olden days are not as old as for most I encounter. I held out in a cave on an internet-less planet writing longhand or typewriting letters to deposit at the post office. Much more of my leisure time was spent reading only books bound with paper pages. I used a dictionary from my book shelf and went to the library at least once a week. I used accordian files for keeping all business documents organized. If there was specialized information I wanted, I sought out a knowledgeable person to whom to listen. I learned only what I needed to get around a P.C. for an erstwhile job.
After all those years resisting the computer age, it is now just four years since my first internet use on my Mac, and now, Yahoo! Answers. What am I doing here?
Timely question for me.
