Undoubtedly they could be worse!
It's the fact that they play in the AL East, where the 2 big boys, the Yanks and the Sox have the two biggest budgets and markets for baseball.
Going thru their current lineup
C Dioner Navarro
1B Carlos Pena
2B BJ Upton
SS Ben Zobrist
3B Akinori Iwamura
LF Carl Crawford
CF Rocco Baldelli
RF Delmon Young
DH Jonny Gomes
That's a decent lineup, full of youth and speed.
The problem is pitching, basically they have Scott Kazmir and Jamie Shield as a solid 1-2 punch, and virtually nothing else. In the bullpen they have Al Reyes and the rest are the worst pen in baseball.
My batting order would be:
Crawford
Iwamura
Pena
Young
Upton
Gomes
Baldelli
Navarro
Zobrist
MLB needs to support baseball in Florida. I personally hated the relocation of Montreal and dislike moving franchises.

The award for Franchise Futility is going to the Detroit Lions. The D-Rays have purely been around for slightly extra desirable than a decade and the Raiders have easily gained the super Bowl. Detroit hasn't completed squat because of the fact the 50's, triumphing purely one playoff activity in that factor.

Well, lets go back to the 2003 Tigers. They were 43-119. Now look at them. But for the Devil Rays, they don't have much hope in their franchise. It is without a doubt the worst franchise in baseball, they have no fans, a crappy stadium, and always finish in last or second to last place in the division. Honestly, I think they should move to another city, Florda shows no interest in baseball.

I couldn't agree more. It's ashame too, It's such a nice place to watch a game. It's too bad the team is not competative.
The fans are were for the Marlins though! No one goes to the Marlins games and the stadium is horrible. They put no money in the team.
I think the State of Florida needs just fold both teams. Give it up Florida.
Marlins and Devil Rays are a waste of time!

Yes, they could be worse. Imagine them without the quality starts of the last two nights from Shields and Kazmir. Those two guys should be kept away from anything sharp, at least until their next starts.

bad now yes.. but they are rebuilding... or maybe just building... once they get these bats ready and the pitching gets there they will contend for 3rd place every year with the o's..... the blue jays are the new 5th place team in the al east... they have no one behind those money players that keep getting hurt.

I don't even think they have fans! I went to 2 of their games in the last week here in Texas and no one had their jerseys or anything. I beginning to think they have no fans. They should move somewhere else or pray for a miracle.

Not really.
If the Devil Rays had pitching they would be SO good!
Just look at thier line up, Delmon Young, B.J. Upton, Carl Crawford, whats his name who plays third base for them, ETC..
They have such good young prospects.
They just need pitching!

Please! Kazmir owned your ***! Yeah, because Boston won now you want to talk junk.
And for the guy above me, have you ever been to Tropicana? Get real man. Baseball in a friggin' dome in the Sunshine State is not fun to watch. Trust me, I know!
