northwest pacific?

I want to plan a solo tour to Northwest Pacific area- any recommendations welcome- I live on Cape Cod area now- I am most interested in beautiful scenic, hiking stuff- don't care for commercial , shopping scene at all- where would you go? I am thinking of Oregon , or Northwest Pacific CA region. What is best time to go?

it rains all the time in the pacific northwest! Go in september october or May. Olympic penninsula for hiking, snoqualmie falls is great. go to arthur frommers budget travel and others are bound to have some great ideas.
