1.pour coffee grounds into several individual coffee filters and tie them closed. Place the coffee bags on whatever is harbouring the gas odour.
2.Sprinkle baking soda over the area and let it sit for a few hours. Then whip out your trusty vacuum cleaner to suck up the soda, finishing the job.
3. Leave a liberal amount of citrus peels in your car or trunk for several days (until the peels are completely desiccated). When you remove them, your odour should be gone or weakened substantially.
4. Vinegar. A bowl of white vinegar, left out overnight, can do a surprisingly good job removing gas odour.
5.Charcoal yes BBQ charcoal. There's nothing fancy or particularly aesthetically pleasing about charcoal in a bowl, but when you scatter some bowls of charcoal around your car (as long as you're not planning to drive), you'll find that it has absorbed the gas odour after about a week.
Try some of these remedies guaranteed..good luck

Aytoglym do a carpet cleaner and deodoriser. Expensive, but it does work. It was the only thing that worked for me after trying all this vinegar, lemon etc. That just replaces the petrol smell with another smell. Neve ever use a vacuum cleaner (even a wet and dry one) on petrol. The motor has brushes which spark on the commutator. The only vacuum cleaner safe to use on petrol is a commercial model with a non sparking motor, and I wouldn't use one on a serious fuel spillage without damping with sand.
Alternatively, find out where the highest car theft area near you is (use police.co.uk) and leave the car there every night for a week or so. Anywhere in Nottingham, Coventry or Manchester would do.

Sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) in the boot (trunk) and maybe leave some newspapers with charcoal on it for a couple days. On the weekend vaccum it good and give it a good airing. Should be fine. The worse thing you could do is counter act it with cologne. The leather I would get some leather cleaner for car leather (or carefully use saddle soap for a light wash with a damp cloth).

The car needs to aired out, so that the smell is REMOVED not just covered up by something else that smells better.
Open the car up and stick a fan in the boot for a day to remove the smell.
A good cleaning couldn't hurt either to remove the gas.

By cutting a fresh lemon in half and rubbing the juice into the fabric, being extremely careful not to stain the material, will help in eliminating gas odours and other smells from fabric. Also air the material as much as possible. This should get rid of the smell in no time.

If you just leave your boot open overnight it will soon evaporate. Remember to disconnect the interior light in the boot otherwise you will have a flat battery.
