what exactly do agencies look for when selecting an actor in open call? what do they do to evaluate you? personal experiences anyone?thanks

It depends on many factors. Sometimes an agency, stopped working with an actor client, and must replace him or her with another actor.

Some NY agents want actors that have a Theater Degree from a top graduate school.

Some agents want actors that have a great Broadway belt voice, so they can be submitted for Broadway musicals.
It depends on the current needs of the agency.

An agency may have lost their leading man/woman and must replace that actor with a similar type.

There are too many factors that go into what the needs of the agency are, at that particular moment, on that day.
