5.5 years ago I graduated Marine Corps boot camp... I was flying home to see my family before I came back to do some more military training...

I was wearing my Military Dress Uniform and had my Military Orders.

The Airport stopped me and made me undress out of my uniform infront of everyone at the Airport... I showed them my ORDERS stating that I'm in the military but they singled me out and let other people in the airport go on through.

How would you feel if that happened to you?

I joined right after 911, I joined for that reason... and I just felt like the little thing on earth when that happened.

I'm Lebanese, and when people hear my dad talking in Arabic in the airport they give us dirty looks...

One time it went beyond that. We were singled out - my entire family - and were held for 45 minutes while they checked us out... especially my dad. They made sure our tickets weren't fake, checked our luggage REPEATEDLY... my mom (who is from America; blond hair and blue eyes) was throwing a fit, my dad was so annoyed and I was totally confused. Finally, we were cleared.

I know how it feels. And it's wrong, no matter who it happens to.

I'd be pi**ed but with what's been going on I'd probably let it slide although I find it hard to believe they made you strip in the airport and not in the security office, how big was that place? I don't think the uniform had anything to do with it, I'm a military wife and my son is military and I know that uniforms can be purchased by anyone and papers can be forged, this could have been their concern.

1. Complain to the airline.
2. Complain to the airport.
3. Tell your superiors at the Marine Corps.
4. Be thankful you have a body like John Cenna.

ooorah.

How would I feel. Fine. I love attention. I had to nearly strip down to skivvies when I went to Kennedy Space Center, in front of everyone, because I had steel toed shoes.

I'm not in the military, but I can imagine how you would feel. I would feel humiliated and angry. It's a shame the way people treat our soldiers these days. As for me personally, I would like to thank you and others in the Armed Forces for fighting for our freedom. More people should be more respectful of you guys. You have my complete respect.

sounds like you went through an airport full of dumbasses. Hell, my nephew flew from Texas to the Mojave Desert to do Desert training and his whole platoon carried on their M-4's. And that was a commercial flight........he is in the Army

i am so sorry to hear that that happened to you.
first let me say i salute you and i thank you for defending our country. you have my utmost respect. now as for your question may i say that due to 911 the people at the airport made a mistake but it was in the name of protecting our security. so yes it did suck and you can be angry but what will that get you? let it go and move on.

Any schmuck can dress up in a uniform. You should not wear a military dress uniform while traveling. You are just asking to be searched. Grow a brain.
