i think they probably meant Mulatto. It is a term that refers to individuals who are half-Caucausian and half-African American. It was a term especially common in literature during the era of slavery.

Mulatto is a very old term regarding mixed race individuals, not used anymore. I am amazed to see it here. God bless****

You spelled it wrong.
It's MULATTO.
It means of mixed Black and White ancestry, usually more immediate...as one parent is black and one is white.
