You cannot hook two cable modems up to the same line as another. If you were supplied with a cable modem from time warner, you can unhook that one and use the one you purchased, turn it in and pay less per month. But you cannot use two modems on one cable line.
If you were trying to get more then one computer on the internet and thought that you should be using two cable modems, that is not the case. You'll need to purchase a router.

So you have 2 modems on same connection?
Or you purchase a new modem to replace existing one?
If its scenario 1, then its not possible,
If its scenario 2, you make have to contact Time Warner to register the new modem.
