ok so i just got my letter from section 8 housing stating that they want me to make an appt. with them so that i can get my voucher but i owe the housing 630 dollars from being on a low income apt 3 years ago now when i go for my appt. will they work with me or will they want that money up front?

If you haven't went to your appt yet..I don't know the county for which you live in. Usually when you owe housing, depending on the length of time you owed the money, and the county you lived when you owed. Sec 8, and low income housing (projects) usually don't countercross. Depends how thorough the person who assist you, and how far of an background check he/she does. Don't mention it till it comes up. In most cases depending on the circumstances, they'll have you make payments. Payments aren't small over time. meaning the $630 isnt broken over 12 months. Good luck.

First of all you should be thanking the tax payers for paying your rent. I don't remember you asking me if you could take money out of my pocket to pay your way.

It never hurts to call and ask them!!!......I havent been on it myself but how do you owe them 630.00 when they pay your landlord directly??

They will usually work with you. Don't mention it until they do, though.
