You are most fertile right BEFORE ovulation. The day before ovulation is the most fertile day of your cycle. The reason being that an egg only lives for 12-24 hours (and no longer) after its release. So the trick is to have plenty of sperm already in there waiting for it to show up. You only get pregnant once you've ovulated, but you are most fertile right before ovulation takes place.
Good luck.

Usually a woman will ovulate 15 days after you start your period. It truley depends on the length of your cycle. There are a couple of websites that provide you a calculator to figure out when to try to conceive, also. Try www.babycenter.com and find the ovulation calculator. That can be the most helpful. Just an FYI, avoid extremely high temps when trying. Like don't have intercourse in the shower of hot water. It doesn't help the fertility conditions. I think there is a 3 day window for conception during ovulation.

Ovulation is the act of your body releasing an egg. Its only viable for 24-36 hours, any time sperm comes into contact with it during those hours you get pregnant.
Ovulation isnt a time, its an act. Every woman has a window of a few days when she assumes she's going to ovulate.
Having sex the day before and or the day of ovulation are your best chances. The ovum may only last 24-36 hours, but sperm tend to survive 3 days or better.

You should have sex right before you ovulate and have sex every other day for a few days until ovulation is over. The egg lasts 24 - 48 hours, but sperm lasts 3-5 days.
