I just bought some leather protector for shoes, it's clear so it won't stain the bags, I hope. Has anyone tried this before or should I get something else? Thanks

Use saddle soap. It great for protecting the leather and keeps it supple.

Leather 'protector' usually has a repellant in it and other chemicals. Stay natural and the bag will last a lot longer.

COACH sells this leather lotion type stuff for cleaning. I wouldn't spray anything on it unless you bought it from the COACH store! If you do then you risk voiding the lifetime guarantee. Anytime it gets dirty you can take it in to a COACH store and they will clean it for free. The bag should last forever anyways (within reason) that's why they're so expensive!

Coach makes a leather conditioner - http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=7250&category_id=200&WT.srch=1&bc=overpilthrcarecleane&cm_ite=None&cm_pla=leather%20care%20cleaner&cm_cat=NonBranded&cm_ven=overpiPaidInclusion

It's excellent for keeping the leather clean & supple.
