You guys have a misunderstanding of what the grim reaper does. People die through one of two ways. They live to their body s natural end, or they attract misfortune. In the former case, if the grim reaper does not claim the soul, and guide it to an afterlife/new life, the soul stays in the body like a captain going down with the ship. In the latter case, the soul wants to die, and so attracts bad fortune to it. If the soul does not die through misfortune (which a reaper arranges so as to give cause to leave the body), the soul basically destroys itself, becoming a dead soul. Btw, that s what a reaper is, a soul that can t feel anymore. Reapers help themselves by guiding bodies, renewing the souls of the former living, they renew their souls. And the souls they guide return to life. You are not "killing people", nor is this evil. Reapers protect the living from decay, and send them on tto new life.

yeah~it is a darkish...sinister question...but i suppose that sorta is the meaning of grim. The Grim Reaper~a personification of death as a living, sentient entity is a concept that has existed in many societies since the beginning of recorded history~in Western cultures death is usually given this name & is shown as a skeletal figure carrying a large scythe, and wearing a midnight black gown, robe or cloak with a hood, or sometimes, a white burial shroud. And for your entertainment~It is also the name of a British heavy metal band, a Marvel comic supervillian (brother of Wonder Man), the Austrialian anti-AIDS campaign from 1987 (an advertisement) and the nickname given to former NHL enforcer Stu Grimson (wow...all that) We all will see him one day...as we will not get out of this alive

The Grim Reaper is the Angel of Death and there is no way of out running this Angel nor change it's mind from taking you from this world into the next. He is the one who will come to you first and just escort you outta here. I do not think this is really a Myth and it does sound scary to me, I guess there isn't any other way to put it though and that it is just the Angel of death. I guess truthfully none of us will know the right answer until we die.
