Please, please, please read or listen to the audio version yourself. It is a wonderful story about a man who builds elementary schools in the poorest villages of Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is selfless and without ego. His own wife and children sacrifice time with him so that he might make our world a better place. I have a far more solid understanding of the regular people in Central Asia. The book delivers these people as well-rounded human beings in a way that is different from any other book I have ever read.

In the name of peace, you should read the book yourself and not take my summary or anyone else's.
