I am stunned . Judge Tolar has just explained my entire mantra of how 'Hatred Blocks Rational Thought' .. . . . . . Including the cure !!(while being interviewed)
She explained that if you hate someone or strongly dislike someone who directly affects your life , it is YOU who must make a choice . You must choose whether your hatred or strong dislike for that person(Bush) is stronger , than your Love for other people(USA) . And that continued hatred serves no good for anyone(I think I love that woman) .She went on to say that people lose rationale when they're consumed by hatred or discontent . And within the criminal justice world and the real world, it is the haters who cannot see . Outstanding !!
OK Haters , you have a choice. . . .. . Decide now whether your hatred or strong dislike for the President is stronger than your love for our country . Here's your golden opportunity to be progressive and change . Turn over a new leaf for yourself .
So , What's It Gonna Be ?

So you're saying that I can't dislike Bush and still love my country ? Bull biscuits ! I love this country, but I think Bush is a misled, mis-handled moron. And the sad part is, i voted for him. What a mistake. He has our country in a quagmire in Iraq, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
It is my opinion that you have no business being judgemental on anyone's dislike for the President.Perhaps George W. Bush should do the leaf-turning, and get our asses out of a no-win situation.

I know what you mean about what is best for the country. I do not wish it harm just to "get at" my political opponents.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, or maybe I just want to keep my blood pressure down. But as much as I thought (and still believe) that the Democrats controlling Congress would be very bad for the country, once they won I had to hope I was wrong and that they did well by us - the "U.S." us! I have criticized them when I felt it was warranted, but I have not obsessed over their every word and action, looking for something to slam. In short, I do not hate them. I just disagree, strongly, with their words and actions.
And I freely admit that the Republicans dropped the ball and didn't deserve to win, as much as it pains me to say so. I did not concoct wild conspiracy theories about voting machines, police barricades, etc. to make myself feel better. I faced up to the painful truth right away. Not because I am a saint (or a masochist!), but because if you deny what went wrong you can't fix it and win next time.
Hate and denial cloud judgment, which also is not in the country's best interest.
God knows how I will react if Hillary Clinton becomes president. I guess I will have to swallow hard and wish her luck. And mean it. If the people vote and disagree with me, then the campaign is over. I have some quaint notion that it used to be much more that way.

Youre going to have to walk me through this one.
All I read on the forum is post after post of "traitorous lib" "stupid dems" "hypocritical libbies" etc etc etc. Really its just gotten old. I dont see any posts from any of the regular conservative contributors telling the right leaning hate mongers to cool their jets. Until I do, I feel like any appeal to the peaceful sensibilities of the "other side" is disingenuous.
If you are the father of bullies, you cant point fingers at the other kids who are fighting back and accuse them of causing all the trouble. Tend to your own first.
Plus in another post today, you defended the actions of Michael Savage,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Savage_(commentator)
a man who has made a career out of hate, bigotry and vitriol, and stop long enough to take a swipe at those who chose to express a different viewpoint. How is that fostering mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence? The man believes that people who speak out against Bush should be beaten and jailed!!!! I mean...what the.....?
That sword cuts in two directions. Im more than happy to meet you halfway, but youre standing 20 yards back from midfield and complaining that I wont come any further. Even in your own post beseeching peace and love of country, you respond to those who disagree with condescending statements. To meet in the middle, YOU also must move, thats the point that seems to be lost in these posts.
Im doing everything I can to campaign against Clinton being nominated as the next Democratic candidate because I believe that she is the wrong choice at the wrong time, but you guys on the right are just killing me. With every insult, jab and jibe, you are getting the left more and more riled up. They are ready to stick it to you any way they can. And the best way to do it is to put her into office. I cant battle their emotion with logic. Its impossible
Hatred IS blocking rational thought, but there are precious few around here that should be casting stones.

What a wise woman Judge Tolar is! Thank you for sharing her wise words with the rest of us.
Hatrid eats you up inside. When you hate, you have difficulty truly loving. Hatrid of one thing can grow, into a big, black, fog..... Who can see the truth through a big, black, fog?
Thanks again!!! I thought it was very profound...
Now, the haters of the world--UNITE!-- and find your own little island to sit on, and let the rest of us love, and live happily.
Hate sucks the life out of things.
And for the ignorant who did not GET what the original poster was saying... He did not say love Bush... he said stop hating. There is a difference. Why dwell on crap like hate? Find something to make you happy, and do that instead... If hate makes you happy, you are a sad, narrow minded little person.
GOSH!! You people need to learn to read context, and not just what your narrow little minds want to interpret.

I love my country (the united States of America, not the United States if America; very big difference) and the concept of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY that it was originally founded on. Which is why I hate the direction this insane megalomaniac has taken it. His policies are abhorrent and completely anathema to true liberty. Assaulting sovereign nations, calling the Constitution "just a god da** piece of paper," threatening Congress if they don't vote to do away with civil liberties, imprisoning individuals for YEARS without bringing charges, etc, etc, etc.
You see, disgust with GW Bush and his cronies and love of the nation are COMPLETELY compatible. It's the neo-cons and people like GW who hate the concept of individual liberty. After all, why let people make their own choices when everything would just be easier if this were a dictatorship (another Bush comment)?
BTW, I'm a classical liberal, paleo-conservative, or libertarian, whichever you think suits best. They're all the same.
Let's see, who filled my head with those ideas? Hmmmm......
How about Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, the Constitution of the United States, the Articles of Confederation, the Declaration of Independence, Ludwig Von Mises, Lewellyn Rockwell, Von Hayek, etc, etc, etc?
I'm afraid you're the one who's been duped. The Constitution was specifically written to put chains on the Federal government, not to place restricitions on individuals. Note the wording of the tenth amendment.
I'm probably older than you. Your penchant for belittling others who disagree with you places you either solidly in the portion of the baby boom generation that is still in denial about the state of the United States or in the young neo-con following, round about 25- 30. I'm guessing the latter, as the insults seem typical of a college educated individual who is still full of their own self-importance. In other words, you haven't learned humility, yet. I know. I was you about ten years ago.

I suggest you take the cure first... if you didn't need it, you wouldn't have felt the need to post this 'question'. Or would you simply prefer some more kool-aid instead?
I thought I recognized that hateful little mantra... it's a common theme in some of the most hateful and irrational questions I've seen here on YA. If you're a Bush supporter, then why not convince others with rational argument supporting his policies instead of this "other guy is filled with hate" propaganda? Do you really not see the hypocrisy?:

The flaw with this thinking is that it's the love for this country that has made people hate Bush. They hate Bush for what he has done to this country. He has turned this country into a bunch of angry, fearful, and poor people. He has allowed companies to send their manufaturing plants over seas at the risk of our people becoming sick all in the name of making money. The people who truely care about this country are in no position, either politically or financially, to make any sort of difference and their cries are falling on the deaf ears of every person who can make that difference.

Same for those who felt that way about President Clinton.
Same for those who will feel that way about our next President NO MATTER WHO IT IS!
Enough.
Political bigotry is no longer cool, any more than the "I hate my country" crowd is.
It's contemptible, and most of us have had enough.
They may have free speech. Sedition may no longer be illegal. But we also have free speech.
We get to speak up as well.
Thank you for doing so. I'm right there with you and the rest of the patriots, Democrat and Republican, who put our country ahead of their personal ideologies.

I don't hate him...I think he is incompetent and I disagree with the things he has done. Am I allowed to have an opinion? Or do I have to adore Bush and agree with everything he says and does? People can hate Bush if they want...it is not a syndrome they are just disgusted with what he has done. I do not like him and I don't agree with what he wants to do and I do not have to. There is nothing wrong with that and that does not mean I hate my country either. What denial....? Did I say hatred was right ? No.. but people can hate him if they want. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I said there is nothing wrong with disliking and disagreeing with him.
