I think J.K. just HAD to kill off mostly everyone Harry loved, including his owl :(. Kind of like a way of saying that bad luck follows Harry :(, even the most insignificant of his loved ones has to die. Well, if Harry had said "accio firebolt", it would still take a matter of time for the firebolt to get there... also, IF the firebolt had gotten there in time, Hedwig wouldn't have died, and J.K. WANTED Hedwig to die... thus, that is why she is the author, giving her creative freedom. On the plus side, at least our three main heroes remained intact :). Just goes to show that even the most unfortunate of stories can have a happy ending.

I don't know why Hedwig had to die. Maybe Ms Rowling was saying "I'm gonna kill a lot of people, and just to let you know I'm starting with the bird" I dunno

As for the Firebolt, I don't think Harry was thinking about getting it. Plus he couldn't perform magic since he wasn't seventeen yet, and the Ministry keeps tabs on underaged wizards. I didn't like how the Firebolt had to go...to me it was sort of his last remnant of Sirius.

Because the series had to end. JK had to tie all the leaked hype and broken plot lines together. Here are a few books to read next:

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
The Sprawl trilogy by William Gibson
Daughter of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce
Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot.
The Hobbit and LOTR series by J.R.R. Tolkien
Xenogenesis Series by Nebula and Hugo award winning author Octavia E. Butler
His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman

Non-Series:

Fire Starter by Stephen King (more thriller than horror)
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I don't know. I guess we never will but she had to. If she wrote it it serves a purpose... I was crying over my main man DOBBY! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
