I think you should first send her a nice card with an actual letter in it. I mean, a real letter from you, thanking her for all that she's done, mentioning different things that you've learned from her, and as always, telling her that you love her. Then, you get together a bunch of pictures from your family. Pictures of you, your mom - all the people in your family that you love. Then you buy a decent frame (at Target or something) that has space for multiplie pictures and you fill up the frame with the pics. Your mom will love this. It is not the cost that is that important. It is the time that you spent putting it together. Most 38 year olds don't have a lot of time! I know - I'm 42! But most people our age treasure our family and loved ones. And also, your mom will have something that she can keep and remember forever. She will love it!

Depends on your budget. If you already got her a mother's ring for Mother's Day, you should be good...

But you can rarely go wrong with candles, or flowers. My mom loves sappy cards. I like funny ones. One year, I gave her a sappy card. She loved it!

Or maybe just get her a pizza and a DVD for a 'girls nite in'. Just strengthening the bonds between you can be a great gift to give a mother.

No matter what, be sure to say "I love you Mom." :)

Happy Birthday to her!

Make her dinner. Spagetti and Meatballs with garlic bread and a salad is the easiest. Buy a decorated birthday cake from a bakery for desert.
