I was driving on the interstate and my car started slowing down. I pulled over and smoked started coming out of the hood and I heard a clicking noise on the right side. I later noticed that I was out of antifreeze. Someone said that my head gasket probably blew out. Do you think it's the head gasket or the motor?

Good news! My dad got it to start. The only thing, he advised me not to let it run. By the way, it's a 92 Camry.

If the car overheated chances are you did blow a head gasket, check and see if there is water in your oil ( it will look like it has cream on the dipstick when you check it.) if you do have a blown head gasket it is a major repair and you could also have damaged the head also, that will need to be checked by a machine shop.

you didnt say what kind of car it is but i doubt its either when some cars get too hot they shut off so put some antifreeze in it and see how it runs

It could be either or both. Get a mechanic to check it out.

take it to be looked at, even though it starts now, doesn't mean you did not damage the engine
