To desire or consider a utopian society is to make judgments about the current society. This is a sure fire way to feel discontent and dissatisifed day after day.

The problem with fantasy is that reality becomes unpleasant and even unbearable. Utopia is a fantasied concept of how things could be or should be rather than what it is.

Utopia can't be obtained in groups, everyone has their own interests and works towards them, usually foresaking everyone else.

Utopia can't be obtained alone, humans need basic human connection to be happy.

A future dystopia is looking more and more probable

But you can go out and get a fruitopia right now and call it a comprimise.

Utopia is a human construct. There have been many Utopian communities attempted through the ages, but none have succeeded.

Perhaps you mean "nirvana"?

As a pessimist, I would have to give a big, fat...NO!
Utopia would require everyone to stop thinking only of themselves and make sacrifices for the greater good. Not gonna happen! Case in point...G.W. Bush, D. Cheney, etc.

Utopia is the Greek word which means, "no place".
This may be simlilar to the Buddhist understanding of "non-being".

It can be attained, but it can't be sustained.

Like wine. It will have it's moment when it's at it's best. You'll have it no sooner, and no later, than that moment.
