It's a 2000 Jaguar XJ8 vanden plas, the vehicle turns on, but when I put it on drive and press the gas pedal it doesn't go...all it's says is (gear box fault). What does that mean? Is it expensive to fix?... thanks guys!

The only way to know for sure is to have the system scanned for codes. Call the dealer and make sure that it isn't covered under powertrain warranty. Good luck

You have a Jaguar XJ8, take it to the dealer... Don't guess. No one works on my Benz but my qualified, experienced dealer.

The gear box is the transmission. You could try disconnecting the battery for a while to reset all of the computers and try it again. If that doesn't work, you will need to get it towed somewhere. Sorry.

Your gearbox is buggered! Probably exepsnive.
