I sold an authentic LV purse on ebay. I clearly stated it was USED in the listing. The chick wants a full refund because she claims it shows used signs...which is not wierd since I listed it as USED. She filed a dispute with ebay before I even got back to her and now I have a negative amount in my paypal! if she wins this dispute, how the hell will she get her money when my paypal account had a balance of 0?

Be sure to respond to eBay -- if you listed it as used, she can't complain.

This is classic paypal chargeback fraud and there's nothing you can do. If she filed a significantly not as described (SNAD) dispute with paypal, the dispute will be found in the buyers favor and she will be able to keep the merchandise. I've been an ebay powerseller for almost 10 years and I quit accepting paypal because of this kind of BS.

She will be given a refund out of your paypal account even if it means putting your account in the negative. If you refuse to pay the negative balance paypal will freeze your account and report you to the credit agencies, also, ebay will suspend all your account/s.

The bottom line is stop accepting paypal and consider yourself lucky if the purse is returned.

First of all, keep your cool. You will keep meeting all kinds of buyers, so you might as well accept it.

Save the listing with the transaction reference where you have described the product.

Next, click Live Help on eBay and ask them to suggest how to handle this.

When communicating with eBay / Paypal / your customer ALWAYS MAINTAIN A FRIENDLY TONE and highlight that you would like do everything you can to satisfy your customers in a reasonable manner.

eBay allows you to leave a counter-message against your customer's feedback. Write a polite, nice, friendly note showing that you are a great ebayer assuring after-sales-service. Viewers will find this more credible than your buyer's negative comments.

By the way, if you have just mentioned as used but failed to mention the damages / scratches / tears etc., then the customer is right. In your future listings, it will pay to highlight such defects through the listing text and images.

Good luck and best wishes,

Forget pleading your case to ebay for the moment.

Do you have a return policy? USED is nebulous. It could have been well-used or little used. And, although subjective, it could have been in poor condition, good condition or pristine condition I think this woman is not complaining about fact it was used but rather its condition.

Send her an email. Be nice. Kindly ask her why she wants to return the purse when you clearly stated it was used in the description or perhaps even title. I think you will get a different answer.

If she still doesn’t like it take it back and refund her money less shipping (such policy should be noted in your return policy). After all, retail stores take returns. You may be a small guy but as an ebay seller you are running your own little business. Don’t fret. The item will sell again. It’s just an inconvenience.

You can please some of the people all of the time but you can’t please all the people all of the time.

did you send it via signed for delivery? if not my advice would be close your paypal account because paypal are as bad as ebay they never listen to your side of the story the buyer always seems to win so then you have lost the item and the money. i had the same problem and ebay did not want to help and neither did paypal so i stopped selling on ebay and started listing on www.jtbids.com

to close your paypal account
login in to it first then go to profile then at the bottom of the account information list it will say close account select that then continue with the process
you can always open another paypal account with a different bank card. don't let her win she is trying to con you

all the best take care

when you signed up with paypal you gave them the right to reverse any deposits to your bank account, in other words they will remove the money from you bank account , if you have no money in your bank account then I imagine the bank will put a hold on your account and you might not be allowed to maintain or open a bank account in the future.

but the best way to protect yourself is to call paypal and send them all the proper information about the condition stated in the ebay auction , show where it clearly stated it was used.

not sure bout paypal, but to get money auto taken she might have filed for unauthorised access, if so provide tracking id, if it says item not as described, send paypal the ebay messages saying she says its used and then the listing comfirming it is used, aswell as a tracking id, if she doesnt respond paypal will most likely side with you.
