NIC card is the Network Interface Card. This is where your Internet connects to your PC. A 10/100 has a maximum of 100mbps. Most T1/T3 lines can go much faster than that. So no matter how fast your connection is, it is only as fast as the NIC card.

NIC is a Network Interface Card.

If you have a 10/100 Ethernet port on your PC then the upgrade will not help allot.

If your NIC card supports 10/100 then you dont need a better one.

That rig sounds like it has a NIC that will do the job

it's teh network interface card that allows you to access the network and internet. 10/100 is fine because your computer can't download faster than 10megabits on any internet feed currentlyin production unless you have a 45 mbs ds3 which would cost 6000 dollars a month. so yes you are fine

Don't worry about trivia. Just use your computer and have fun. You can always chase "the perfect pc" when you understand enough about it to know whether it impacts you or not.

Good Luck
