i am going into eighth grade and my parents are making me join an in school sport. my dumb little gay school only has volleyball, cheerleading, b-ball and track for girls and i hate them all. everybody in my school makes fun of ppl who aren't good at sports, which i am not good really at all. bc our school is so small we dont have to try out for sports so my parents are forcing me to join an in school sport. i cant join an out of school sport bc my parents dont have alot of money and i know that. i know i am kinda complaining but i am angry and i dont know what to do. school starts August 21 so i have a week to make up my mind.
thannk u for taking the time to read my angry note

Unlike the first answerer, I think that cheerleading is the best sport. I may be biased since it is my favorite sport, but it's SO much fun. You get to meet a whole bunch of new people, and you HAVE to work together, so you get close to everyone on the team. Physically, socially and emotionally. I was this little dork of a girl in middle school, and I sucked at every sport i tried. I started cheering in 7th grade, and since then, I'm more popular, more outgoing, and i have a group of about 20 people that i spend 2 hours with EVERY DAY. I can count on them for anything!! I'm a sophomore in HS, and I'm friends with the seniors on the team, the juniors, and the freshman, just like if they were my own age, and like they had been my best friends for a long time. And it's really simple. I went from being a really crappy person at sports, to top of the team last year! It's not hard to pick up. It's mostly just combining dance moves and motions and stuff. Yes there are stunts, and jumps, and tumbling, but it is SOOO much fun! You don't even realize how hard you're working. Plus, you build up a lot of muscle :)

You might want to sit down and talk to your parents first, and ask why you are being forced to try out for a sport. Yes, it's nice to learn the lessons of sport, but on the other hand making you try out almost dooms the experiment before it starts.

I'm a basketball fan, and played it for more than 40 years. Volleyball is fun. Track at least has a lot of different avenues to try. I'm not a big booster of cheerleading; I'd rather participate in a sport than root others on.

deff go out for bball. it really is fun. i didnt really know anyone going into 7th grade so i went out for bball. it was a good experience. we made up a whole team rap b4 each game & did this whole "ballin!" cheer. i know right now u think it sounds dumb now but u make it fun when ur with your friends and goof off on the bus to games, jam to music and stuff. plus it will keep u out of trouble and give u something to do. and thats probably why ur parents want u to. just have fun with it. good luck with ur season in whatever sport u choose though =)

volleyball! it's the easiest and the least "cliquey" if you know what i mean cough cheerleading cough it's also really easy to get the hang of it! i have never played before and in a couple of days i learned all the basics! try it. it really is fun!! (no lie, i SUCK at sports too, so it's not coming from some freaky little jock) give it a try, and you won't regret it :]
