My aunt gave her credit card number to her daughter for one thing, and she got more than what was told, the credit card company called and wonderded what was going on. My aunt said I authorizied a few, but not all. The man said he would erase all the charges so he could prosecute, my aunt said no. Could they pursue charges agaisn't my cousin for this? evenwithout permission from the aunt?

No , and your aunt is responsible for the amount charged . Even though family should not do things like her daughter did to her , that is why they say never trust anyone with you card information , and to never authorize any one else to use the cards , just like many times a family member asks for someone to co-sign for them , Never do that , unless you are prepared to pay it for the family member , now days family will screw you over more often that a stranger would , due to the decline in morals , and family values are the lack of teaching them in today's world , If your aunt does not pay then her credit is screwed , The credit card company will do nothing to the daughter , when your aunt refused to prosecute , she accepted the charges ,and basically took responsibility for the amount now owed .

Legally, the credit card could pursue charges for on authorized use without the aunt's cooperation. However, if the aunt PAYS the bill for the charges, she has effectively authorized the charges after the fact. If the aunt states the charges were authorized, the credit card company can't prove otherwise. As long as they get paid, they don't care.
