Geeeeeeeesh. Maybe he and Hillary are in this together? He says stupid things and hands her the nomination? I'm seriously beginning to wonder.
Yeah, it could be the last straw, but the election is still a long way off.

Well, President Bush has been making ignorant statements for the last 7 years. While I think Obama made some rather silly comments about threatening Pakistan a couple of weeks back, I'd give him a pass given that he's a lot less stubborn and more open minded than ol' Dubya.

i think of it sounds resembling threats of the Bush adminstration. is that what makes it "ignorant" The minister suggested that Obama's comments have been brought about with the aid of Washington's lack of ability to slash the continued Taliban insurgency in neighbouring Afghanistan, the place US-led forces toppled the hardline regime in previous due 2001. "This seems to be like a reaction to their own failure in Afghanistan to regulate the U. S. casualties and actually of addressing the region there, they're looking scapegoats and damaging their own reason," Azeem further. Pakistan foreign places ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam on Wednesday warned against "element-scoring" with the aid of US presidential applicants on mandatory protection matters. Musharraf deserted Islamabad's help for the Taliban interior the wake of the 9/11 assaults on the united states. He has suggested that a real US professional warned that Pakistan may well be bombed lower back to the "stone age" if it did no longer connect Washington's "warfare on terror".

I think Obama gets hurt most by "sound-bite politics" and an ignorant public that doesn't take his, or anyone's comments in context. For example, the entire context of his statement first:
Answering a question on how he would refocus U.S. troops out of Iraq to better fight terrorism, he said, "We've to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there."
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070814/ap_on_el_pr/obama_politics
Now, news about Afghanistan that has been reported by Rueters, BBC, CNN, FOX, etc. news:
-- Air raid 'kills Afghan civilians'
"US-led forces have killed at least 21 civilians in an air strike in southern Afghanistan, local officials say."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/6637957.stm
-- 106 Headlines for AFGHAN CIVILIANS from 10/18/06 to 07/01/07
http://www.rollingheads.com/archive.afghan-civilians.html
Shall we all seek to better inform ourselves? Or just boycott all news sources? Is 'traitor and fool' the new label for people who do inform themselves?
If so, we are ALL in very bad shape!

Yes, he should. Hard to believe isn't it, that at his young age Teddy Roosevelt had already been in office for four years and JFK had been assassinated? He's far from ready for the big show.

Bold statements make for bold moves. He's irrationally saying things he may regret.
