15x = 15(4) = 60

just put x = 4 in the equation

15x = 15(4) = 60 when x = 4
15x means 15 times x

15x means 15 * x so if x = 4 then its 15 * 4 = 60

* is used to indicate multiplication so it doesnt get confused with an X . 15 x x would be confusing .

15x when x=4 is just saying 15x = 15(4), just replace the x with 4, they mean the same thing in this situation. so it would be 60
