I have always thought about it and it confuses me a lot, maybe I'm just thinking too deep, but why do we have to live? Do you have a reason to live, if so, what is it? I don't have a reason to live. Don't worry im not depressed or suicidal or anything, im too scared to die haha.

Here is something to think about;

ALL of us, at some time in our lives, feel that they do not "have a reason to live." It is depression.

Thow in a good dose of fear. If you are a kid or teener, you look around; everyone around you is doing all kinds of cool and important things. You sit there; "one day I will grow up," and I have NOT-A-CLUE what I am going to do with my 'adult life.' THAT blows any mind!!

I asked a doctor when I was getting a physical, "how did you decided to become a doctor?" He said, I did not know what I wanted to do (job) when I grew up. So I read about different jobs. Found I could do chemistry and formulas really good, so I picked 'doctor.' If I found I could do chemistry awful, I would have picked something else.

"The secret is; write down what you are good at, and write down what you are bad at. Look on the internet at different jobs; focus on the ones that have things you are good at."

Then write down EXACTLY what kind of person you want to be as an adult. Include house, car, clothes, etc.

All these things will come to you if you write them down.

My reason for living
Women, and the pursuit thereof...

EDIT: Seriously though, you got the religious angle (you live to do Gods will), you have the moral angle (you live to improve life on Earth), and the Nihilist angle (there is no reason for life), I have a nice combination of all three. My mom always told me, "if you don't have a something to live for, find a cause worth dieing for and the rest will fall into place."

Life itself is an excellent reason for living, I've always thought.

I like the way my body feels...the smell of the warm earth in my garden...the look in my children's eyes when they snuggle up for a story...

So many things to do and to see and to experience...

That's why I live.

My reason to live is to be happy....in the long run...to get maried and have kids...to do a nice satisfying job...to be financially independent...to live life to the fullest...to know everything if possible..but I guess that is ridiculosly wishful thing.

There would be no reason for living unless there is a God. Without God, we're the product of mindless evolution.

But, if we think maybe there is a God, then our reason for living would be to seek Him.

We have a divine mission in Heavenly Father’s plan. We came to earth to receive a body and to gain knowledge and experience to help us become more like our Heavenly Father.
