ABCD is a //gram (parallelgram), so diagonal lines bisect each other, or AE = EC
7x - 1 = 5x + 5
2x = 6
x =3
AE = EC =20
AC = AE + EC = 40

ABCD is still just a parallelgram, not know to be a rectangle or not. Needs more info given
