A couple months ago, early this year, I was rough housing with my dogs and stood on my couch. I got unbalanced and smacked my *** into the beam behind the cushions, I had taken them off. It wasn't like the beam had much to go through, my butt is unrealistically tiny. All of my underwear are too baggy, but, that's besides my point.

After it, my butt hurt, of course, but I also felt slightly nauseous. There was a bump, but no bruise and it hurt very badly.

The bump is gone and it doesn't hurt as much as it used to, but I can't sit on it for very long without it hurting. Which means, I ALWAYS have to sit on my side.

I never went to get it looked at. Don't have any health insurance and can't afford the check-up, so my *** just hurts every time I sit since then. But, it's okay, I can use that as my excuse not to sit long. :P

Any ideas?

Oh, and please, feel free to laugh. It is kind of funny. :)

Wow. Dr. Albert, I checked that second link you sent me and found a few things.

First and foremost, the fall was the direct cause of pain. But, I am thin and do not have the right padding, but before that, I had hit childhood obesity. If I had known more, I could've seen this coming. :P

Thank you everyone for your help and giggles. :)

I had the same thing happen to me(well, I didn't jump off a couch, but I did sit down on a piece of angle iron really hard), and it seemed like I was "one-cheeking" it for a couple of months too. You might have fractured it, but even if you did there's nothing that can be done besides giving it time to heal.

(Laughs). you probably jammed up some of your bones.. might've even chipped or fractured your "assbone" also known as the coccyx... (haha.)

I know you said you don't have insurance (I can empathize with that.. believe me.. )But I'd say either go see your doctor and have x-rays done, or, if it were me, I'd go to a chiropractor and have x-rays done and get adjusted. Maybe have a massage therapist work out your deep hip rotator muscles, and the muscles that attach to your SI joint. (they will know what you are talking about....)

Not a whole lot ya can do besides ice it, aside from that. Um, how long ago did it happen? because after 30 days post-injury you can alternate heat and cold and it's a lot more effective than just cold alone.....

It WILL heal on it's own.. better if you make sure the docs put everything back in alignment first.. but if you can't afford it, ya can't afford it... it'll heal up.. might always hurt ya just a bit...

Um, next time... don't land on your assbone!! haha.....

haha okay well i felt bad laughing at first but it is a little bit funny. What you probably did is bruised your tailbone. When you bruise a bone it feels like it's sore almost forever and apart from ice and as little pressure as possible, the rest will heal itself.

If you chipped your tailbone that is a different story and the only way to know for sure is to get an x-ray which you said you can't afford so i'd go for the ice and tylenol

well its not that funny because there could be something internally serious with the accident. As far as the bone, it is connected to part of your spine, and that is the biggest reason to get it checked. As far as the insurance, just go to the hospital you can go even though you dont have anything, speak to a financial counselor. i hope this helps. and i hope you are okay in the long run. p.s. play in a safer area, next time!!!

Hello Bruised butt... didn't momma tell you to stay off of the furniture? actually as hard as it may be you need to stay off your backside for a while and let it heal. Swimming or a whirlpool might help too water has amazing properties. Incidently I used to judge cattle in 4-h and if you want to send me a photo of the bruised area I would offer my free review at no charge,,, Hee heee

I was body slammed when i was younger and it went wrong. My A$$ bone hit his knee.and then had to go to softball practice.needless to say I was a catcher.I had to squat and pretend it didn't hurt.(the kind of pain that takes your breath away)He was cute so i didn't get mad at him.
It has been years ago and I have fully recovered.Depending on your age and your health you might want to get it checked out.
Me i might just end up a curled up old lady some day.
I'll be all right *o)

LOL @ g-string idea.They are more comfy.

Dear A.R.K, It sounds like you broke your tail bone.
This will be painful for some time, as it takes a long time to heal. There is really nothing you can do for it but let it heal on it's own. It may give you some problems later on.

Don't worry about it. It's probably just a bruise. I did that on a toboggan and I swear it took months to get back to normal. If you are really worried you can go to a doctor but try giving it more time.

HELLO, THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY NOR HUMOROUS ABOUT INJURY TO THE COCCYX BONE. SOME THINGS TO SO IS REST AND LET TIME CURE THIS. THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE BANDAGED OR BRACED FOR THIS. JUST BE SURE NOT TO SIT ON HARD SURFACES FOR SOME TIME. IF IT HURTS TO SIT, USE SOMETHING SOFTER.
