I have a oregano plant that my mom gave me, How do I get oregano from it?

Assuming the plant is large enough so this wouldn't kill it, you cut off a twig or two, strip the leaves off the branch, and use the leaves. If the plant is too small, keep growing it, but don't let it bloom (cut off buds). Then use the leaves.

Wash the oregano, cut off the stems and then bunch them together. Hang them up to dry like you would flowers. ONce dried, store the whole bunch of herb in a cool and dry spot in a bag. When you need them, just shake them onto your dish! I saw this on naked chef once - I thought it is ingenious.

Pick the leaves. That's all that it is, the leaves. You can dry the leaves for storage, but if you have the plant, why bother. Rmember fresh herbs are only half as strong as dried, so adjust your recipes.
