Some cars use that light as a handbrake "On" light and a brake system "Failure" light. Check your brake fluid. If it's OK drop by the dealer or your friendly mechanic for a brake system checkup.

Well rirst off all you should get a new car cause a 99 acura is a piece of **** well n e ways to answer your question are you sure its completly down and if it is read your f*cking manuel maybe it will help you more then i did :D

have you tried pulling up on the brake again? if there is no tension, you more than likely broke one of the brake cables. take a look underneath and try spraying it with wd40. if you don't want to do this bring it to a mechanic and find out what happened.

thereis probably a switch in back of the handbrake under the console covering it that is bad or needs adjusted.

first check fluid level in master cylinder.. may also have a bad switch on the perk brake mechanism
