When Bill Clinton left office after 8 years, this nation was better off than it ever was before, and his approval rating was 65 percent. After 6 1/2 years of George W. Bush, this nation is in trouble in so many ways, and his approval rating is 26 percent. Gee, when you put it like that, maybe Bush IS the more accomplished President! But if I were Bush supporter, I'd be a fool to use the word "accomplished" after that aircraft carrier stunt.
To the guy who cited all those Clinton "accomplishments": The President with the most Administration convictions was Nixon. Nixon was also the only President to be disbarred. He also had the only Vice President ever to be disbarred. Clinton was never disbarred. Nor was he ever "a fugitive from justice." Nor was he ever convicted of a crime. Bush was: Drunk driving, and pleaded guilty to it. Next time you want to lie about one of the Clintons, come up with something new, so we'll have to do some work to prove it's a lie rather than knowing it's already proven.

is this a rhetorical question? I'm a Republican and I will freely admit that Bill Clinton has a much greater legacy than G.W.B.
Clinton balanced the budget, created a boom economy(although he can't take all the credit), improved international relations, and many other cumulative accomplishments. And he was reasonably tough on national security and defense.
The only real accomplishment of the Bush administration is improving on Clinton's plan for national defense. We are probably safer as a nation for it. He's done minor things like raise the minimum wage and try to save social security, but nothing even approaching Clinton.
Am I the only Republican out there that might admit we made a small mistake letting Bush be our choice for president? He's not a bad man, or even a dumb one-he's just not right for the job. There has to be a certain amount of personal grace, charisma and honesty for a man to be trusted by a nation, and there are too many stumbles, lies and questions about motivation in this man's tenure as leader of the free world for any of us to have a positive outlook on the last 8 years.

George W. Bush has been the least assertive president in the history of the office. Clinton passed crime, energy, welfare legislation all with an unfriendly congress. Besides No Child Left Behind in his first year, which he then couldn't fund, George Bush has been unable to get a friendly congress to agree to any of HIS initiatives. He tried to solve Social Security his first term--nothing. He tried to solve immigration this past year--nothing. Not only does he not get his policy, but he gets no policy at all.
I'll let everyone judge his reactive decisions (to Sept. 11th, etc.), but the initiatives he has tried have not even been given a chance to fail, he couldn't even get them passed. This has nothing to do with how good or bad of a president they are, but Bush has not accomplished anything he intended to do.

Clinton has accomplished more.
He screwed an adult intern, Bush screwed a nation.
Clinton also left office with a budget surplus, prosperity and good international relations.
Bush will leave office with an unpopular war raging, an historically large deficit and a legacy of lies, deceit and a shredding of our Constitution and what we stand for as a people.

The problem is that mementous accomplishments happen in the face of challenges, and Clinton just didn't face a lot of serious challenges, while Bush's America has been severely put upon. So Clinton's accomplishments look pale, but Bush has had dramatic failures.

Bush by far. We wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for Clinton and his many "accomplishments" as so nicely pointed out by koalatcomics.
Bill and Hillary (The Ideal happily married couple):
Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964,
accepting all contractual conditions of registering for the draft.
Selective Service Number 326 46 228.
Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964
Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968.
Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969.
Bill Clinton refuses to report and is not inducted into the military.
Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States
Army Reserves on August 07, 1969, under authority of Col. E. Holmes.
Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment.
Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of
Arkansas ROTC, September 1969.
Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) registrant who has failed to report...remain liable for induction.
Bill Clinton's birthdate lottery number is 311, drawn December 1, 1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction is INELIGIBLE!
Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from
justice under Public Law 90-40.
After a long relationship over many years, Bill married
Hillary Rodham, who didn't pass the bar exam in Mass.,
but did pass it in Arkansas?????
Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976),
while a fugitive from justice.
Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21,1977, from
President Carter.
Bill Clinton FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON ever
to serve as President of the United States.
All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests,
public laws, and various books that have been published,
and have not been refuted by Clinton.
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five
U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and
injured 39 U.S. sailors. Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
If Clinton had kept those promises, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, DC that are now dead would be alive today.
AN INTERESTING QUESTION:
This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question.
There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity.
The other sponsors terrorism.
That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the eight years in office, than chasing down Osama bin Laden?
It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her
forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. Their blind trust is estimated to be at least $25 million.
This from two people who spent 8 years being unable to
Recall anything about past events while under oath.
We don't want this woman to even THINK about running
for president. We don't want these people back in the White House
