Stability comes to mind, although it can refer to steadiness of many things besides position. Something that doesn't move can be said to be static, or have the property of stasis, but this also can refer to other than position, and doesn't have the sense of "maintaining", in the face of disturbances, that stability does..

The question is ambiguous. For natural systems, you would normally use a concept like stability, which is a property of an equation (usually a differential equation) describing a system, at a particular operating point (or "position"). Usually you talk about the stability of equilibrium points, which can be stable, neutral or unstable (such as a ball at the bottom of a valley or the top of a hill). If it is a controlled artificial system, you might use other terms like tracking, regulation or closed-loop stability. If you want to get technical, terms like stabilizability and controllability are used in the field that studies this stuff: control theory.

Momentum is when things continue to move , static is when things stay still. So if you're looking for an object that is steady and in place, that is static. If you're looking for something that moves at a steady speed, that is momentum.
