The palmball, but no one throws it any more.

The way Bob Stanley threw it, as once explained to me, was that the ball rested against the palm, and the launching motion was to ever so slightly release the fingers upward so that the ball rolled over the thumb, imparting a forward-facing, downward spin.

a 12 to 6 curve ball will have top spin on it. that is the only pitch. sliders have more side spin on it because your wrist turns around the ball instead of getting on top.

Curveballs have front spin (if thrown right) because it makes the leverage come from the front of the baseball which is what makes it curve and/or drop

Chip, the palmball has backwards rotation also.

don't forget about the mysterious gyroball. Daisuke Matsuzaka is the only person I've ever heard of thats thrown it.......
