How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

well I am not positive, but I always took it that assassination was more murder commited for political reason's. Altough I couldn't give a reason why I think this.

I think people call it assassinated when like your talking infront of a huge audiance and somone shoots you.....cause if you think of all the people whi have been assassinated they were infront of a huge audiance.....just a guess.
