I just got off the phone with a rep from Y!A Abuse dept concerning a complaint I filed against Y!A offing Da Ben Dan. This person stated that if the person that was removed would contact Y!A abuse team it would get resolved. When I told her that it was not being resolved he had not be reinstated. She said she had no way to look up a user name!!!!! What I said!!!!
I was flabbergasted to say the least. When I told her that an imposter had taken over DBD's screen name her response was We can't do anything about that.

DB Dan I guess it is going to be an all "out" war with Y!A and Yahoo's Advertisers. I am going to compile a list of all the advertisers I see and begin a letter writing campaign, with your permission of course.

They did tell him why his account was suspended. They also responded promptly to his appeal(within 2 days). He just didn't like their answer. Go to this link and educate yourself.

To the answerers above: It is very serious, if not illegal. Petr B has perhaps not worded this in the best way, but what he is talking about is very serious. I think I will explain what has been happening, then maybe somebody who is knowledgeable will read this and tell us how to respond appropriately. You are I hope aware of what a troll is, so I neednt explain that. In the classical forum, several of the top contributors/regulars, have trolls, and for the most part all this entailed was that these people would get thumbs downs. About a month ago, one of the top contributors accounts were copied, and somebody began asking inappropriate questions under this other users name. This identity theft has occured to at least five people since. The troll/s, while using others identity's, have made some serious allegations against respected members of the yahoo community. For example: 1. There are several questions saying that (a regular of the classical forum) is sending this person pornography. This is of course not true, and I can verify that it is not true if need be. 2. A regular (who is an adult male) was accused of having sexual relations with, and impregnating a minor. (That minor would be me, so I can definitely tell you that THAT is not true.) These are the only two that are (I would think) illegal, others have been made that are offensive, but certainly not illegal. I am not particularly knowledgeable about law, but surely slander and false accusations (for serious CRIMES) is punishable by law. Please give us classical forum regulars the benefit of wise advice. Thankyou.

Well, the ONLY personal experience that I have had with the Yahoo abuse department is about a week and a half ago when a question I asked was removed as a violation. It was a question that in no way violated the TOS, and I told them that in my appeal. I put the appeal on the forum page as specified on Saturday AM, and I got a response from Y/A on Sunday afternoon, telling me that they were reinstating the points they took away for the violation. I felt somewhat vindicated. But apparently the question itself can't be reinstated.

I am guessing that once they decide to delete you, it cannot be fixed. That is the ONLY reason I see for why they cannot tell you WHAT was the reason for deleting.

I will be glad to do whatever needs to be done as well. Keep us posted!

They never take my complaints well. It takes FOREVER to get questions removed that violate the TOS that harass a regular user on here. I've voiced complaints in the help forums and still haven't received a response. I've challenged violation e-mails and never received a response. Needless to say Yahoo is not about customer service and that's what frustrates me the most with their services. I've sent e-mails about other problems with Yahoo, like when I had e-mail problem, and just get a generic answer, and that's it. So pretty much I've learned that if the 3 general tips they give you don't work, you are own your own, because they don't care about you, me, or anyone else... I guess if we were donating money to yahoo they might like us, but still they would probably give us a generic letter and tell us to 'fudge' off.

I am sure he will be back eventually. They can't ban someone for life can they?

I always thought that Da Ben Dan's answers where very good and consistent so obviously something happened but I am not sure if he is being punished for someone else's bad attitude. It is too bad when someone else drags you down to their level then insults you and pistol whips you and leaves you for dead.

I know a few other users here have Dan's non-Yahoo email.

Maybe they should email him and let him know how to contact Yahoo! Customer Service.

I'm also curious, how did you get such a number when Yahoo! doesn't advertise this anywhere?
They don't have a regular Costumer Service department for Free Yahoo! accounts.

Hey, everybody has to follow the same rules, even now, it appears, he has gotten another account( which is in violation of the TOS) and using it to complain about his " treatment" while not asking a question. I haven't been on here long but why should I have any sympathy for someone who breaks the rules. I've read what Yahoo said to him on the link supplied on his posts.and apparently he got plenty of warning. Why would they lie? It looks like his behavior just caught up with him.

Wow, that's very proactive of you! Way to go! *big fat hug*

It's a frustrating point to me as well. I've contacted them on my few violation notices wondering WHY I was tagged for wishing someone a happy birthday, etc. - it takes 3 days and then you get a canned response.

They seem to be very lax in all this, and if you can tell from my previous question, all these idiots mucking it up for us is really starting to tick me off.

Let me know what I can do to help. I'm new, but I'm dedicated, baby! XOXO
