federal minium wages had gone up as of 7/24/2007 to 5.85 an hour. then 7/24/2008 will go up to 6.55 an hour. then 7/24/2009 it will go up to 7.24 on hour. It does not matter where you live or if you are part time or full. don't let them under pay you.

Your wage depends upon your age and the industry you are working in. If you are an adult, you cannot be paid less than $8.00/hour for most jobs, in The GTA.
The Ontario Wage Survey will give you a good estimate of how much you should be earning in most occupations. The information is 8 years old though, so use it with care.

It depends on what you will be doing. You could find a US city that is a match for Toronto and use the US numbers for occupations to get some idea. If you are low skill the ask for a little above the minimum wage which is $8.00 an hour.
