Politics aren't about hating the other side, people. The two party system has to stay in effect for either side to get anything done. I for one can't imagine a country run by one party(be it democratic or republican) because that sounds all to similar to a police state. Take it easy and realize that to get things done in this country, we must meet each other in the spirit of the common good. There is no room for selfish espousing of the most drastic of stances. The gentleman up above who suggested that Republicans put the nooses around their necks is an example of the sorry state many members of both parties find themselves in.

And to answer the above question, green, in the political sense, means neutral. Republicans wear red ties most often, and democrats wear blue. But either party can switch that around-when Bush wants to appear more bi-partisan, he'll wear a blue tie. None of these rules are by any means ironclad, but that's the basic gist of it.

Currently I am an Independent, but am leaning to re-register with the Libertarian Party here soon, since that party identifies with my political beliefs more than any other in the system. I am currently a college senior, studying Economics at the Pennsylvania State University, and hope to engage in a career in politics as soon as I leave grad school, which may take place in Delaware (of all places).

Do Democrats remain unproductive and unemployed to distinguish their political affiliation?

No? Then I guess that was a stupid question...

Edit to add...

SG, I'm no Christian. Seems you suffer from the same assuming nature as the questioner. Not to mention completely missing the sarcasm of my obviously flawed analogous hypothetical question.

I only wear a green tie if it matches the rest of my clothing. When did tie's become a political statement? Wouldn't a green tie be more representative of the green party?

I've asked more than I've answered...no 10 points for me ;(

Do Republicans remain greedy, self=invested, hypocrites who claim to be "Christians" but fail to act in a Christian manner? Yup. Sure do. As far as the ties go, they should all just start to wear a noose around their neck 'cause after Bush leaves they're done!
