Squirt guns can hurt someone if squirted in the eye. No one is hurt with a water balloon.

The water balloon has a much better soak to it, but I prefer squirt guns.

Squirt guns, water balloons are too heavy and too hard to tie the knot to keep the water from leaking.

squirt guns are wayyyy more fun than water balloons
1. You have way more control over the gun than the water balloon
2. Much more water
3. You aim better
4. You can block water with the gun

Both! I would go with BIG squirt guns though. =) You get to aim for who you want and it's much easier to run and shoot. With water balloons, you have to aim really well and when you hit them, it might not even pop unless it's a hard hit. Not only that, but you have to find the waste (rubber) of the balloon and throw it away! =(

Both are funs, with my son and wife, we use the squirt guns as hand weapons and water balloons as grenades, and I can tell you, we always have a "blast" !! :-)
