Wise is defined as "having the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is true or right; possessing discernment, judgment, or discretion."

So, therefore, you do not have to be old to be wise. You can have an older person who is flawed and can not discern between right and wrong just as you can have a young person who is capable of it. Though, typically, you will find a correlation between being old and being wise.

Wise means you've learned, experienced or seen a lot of things and you can cope with it. You don't have to be old but it does seem that elders don't rush into things without a lot of thought and isn't that wise of them?

First thing a person must do is to set a rock solid standard for what it is that they believe in. Personally, I have found no greater book that the BOOK OF YAHWEH VOL'S 1 & 2. For me. & millions of others, there is no other source of knowledge! Therefore, The more a person knows & has studied this book, the wiser a person will become. The BOOK OF YAHWEH has with stood the test of time! & after millenia it is still on the best sellers list!!! Others speak of knowledge & understanding! Wisdom is the ability to take those attributes & use them for the purpose of getting us closer to out Loving Creator YAHWEH!!!

Wise means you've seen a lot of things and learned from them.

No, you don't have to be "old" to be wise. You just have to have learned things -- life skills . . . street smarts that kind of thing . . .

I carry a certain amount of wisdom due to some very hard things that have happened to me starting at a young age (such as the death of my son at birth when I was 19).

They say wisdom comes with age, it has to do with experience and knowledge. The older you become, the more wiser and knowledgeable you are.

Basically being wise is being knowledgeable.

no.i don't think age makes one wiser, but rather experiences do. being wise means knowing how to handle things and being able to prevent others from being hurt by making a certain decision.
