do you get very dissappointed when an author decides to make the choice of discountinuting a popular series?

Oh, yea! It makes me so mad I feel like getting back to work on all these unfinished manuscripts I have laying around.

I'm disappointed when they choose, yes, but I've also followed series that should have ended long ago. Stephen King, Lilian Jackson Braun and even Laurell K Hamilton (sadly) have done stories to death and when you no longer care about the characters, you no longer follow the series. They should have stopped three books back (and Stephen needs to stop, period--what happened to his retirement?). Would you rather an author discontinue or keep on until you no longer care about the characters?
