I want to get into vintage baseball cards. Where's the best place to find them other than eBay, maintage them (how to store them), and everything else you need to know. Thanks

Other than Ebay, I'd suggest dealing with a reputable seller directly or attending a card show to get started. Ebay is great, especially if you don't mind laying out some cash, to get a larger lot of such cards for good money. I use it on occasion to purchase collections (from 500 to 10,000 cards) to boost my own collection, since you get some great deals.

As for maintaining them, make sure to use top-line card holders and keep your cards free from dust, smoke, etc. I keep mine in an extra bedroom, where the temperature is very moderate and the sun doesn't shine in there directly too often.

I find cards at estate sales. It will help you to focus on 1 year or 1 or 2 players or a specific brand etc. Even vintage cards you will find youself building an extra room on to your house to store them.

For storage I prefer the penny sleeves and then a hard sleeve. I keep them in cardboard boxes and keep the boxes in big plastic boxes. That will help keep out rodents if you cards still have the gum smell as well as protecting them from moisture.

I would start with something easy like a set from the 1960's. Then move to the older cards. Be sure to do your research and make sure that you aren't buying "reprints" of the old cards. When I started my 1933 set I found that buying cards graded by PSA (even if they were only 2's or 3's) are safer because you at least know that they are real.

Good Luck!

purchase finished contraptions, initiate in eighty 5 or 86 as a good beginning place. you may desire to via finished contraptions for 35-a hundred dollars and get rookie enjoying cards in that set nicely worth greater. besides the undeniable fact that like with each and every thing its approximately furnish and insist. A baseball card's nicely worth is in keeping with its rarity. Topps are reliable yet no longer uncommon. Now a days you may get very almost any rookie card from any of your baseball hero's. as antagonistic to returned interior the day you may desire to no longer get a babe ruth card because of the fact baseball enjoying cards weren't effortless. they actually did no longer take off till the overdue 70's or perhaps then purely the truly reliable gamers have been made into enjoying cards. case in point I certainly have a Joe Montana rookie card. yet its no longer from his rookie season, he wasn't placed right into a card till he all started racking up stats. His rookie card is definitely in his third 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. A game used card has a bite of a gamers jersey or a splinter of a bat ... you get the belief. once you get the completed contraptions in case you will bypass away them interior the field shop them in a funky dry place or the enjoying cards will stick mutually. I take them out of the field and placed them in 3 ring binders.
