m I've been chosen to be on Jury Duty. My boss threatened to cancel my Blue Cross Ins. since I wouldn't be working 30 hours/week and she pays for it. Blue Cross said that was ok. I wouldn't be reinstated because I have pre-existing conditions and can't get Medicare for 7 years. Had surgery last year and need some more in the future. Can I get out of jury duty? Is this considered a hardship case? My boss pays for all of it.

Your boss can go to jail for threatening you with canceling your insurance. I WOULD ASK TO BE LET OUT OF JURY DUTY FOR HARDSHIP. Make sure you tell the presiding judge why!

You should contact the jury coordinator and explain why serving jury duty would create a hard ship for you. You will probably have to spend a day down there.

Under the circumstances, you might be excused from jury duty, but I don't know what to tell you about your insurance. Good luck.
