He's fine. The formula might have slowed him down a bit - but 1 poop a day is fine!

No babys should have at least 6-10 diapers a day and at least 2-3 poops. The formula might be too much for him. You should try a soy formula till the babys stomach gets used to formula. If you have recently switched formula then this will cause it too, if thats the case stick to it and he should clear up within 3 days. If it is the same formula that he has been having since the hospital the I suggest switching to a formula made for sensitive stomachs. Just read the backs of the formulas and it say which are for sensitive stomachs.

Our doctor said that it's not the frequency of the poo but the consistancy...meaning if it's soft it's ok but if it's hard little pellets, that's not so good. So, if his 1 poo was soft, then he's fine, just keep an eye on things. Isn't it strange being a new mom? Bet you never thought you'd be so worried about someone else's poo! :-) Congratulations!

to answer the least complicated ones first: No water for a ten day previous toddler. that is totally risky for youthful little ones and not mandatory. No end result or herbs or berries for a ten day previous toddler. Neither solids no longer water could settle for until toddler is a minimum of 6 months previous. that is common for slightly one, even a newborn, to have purely one grimy diaper an afternoon. as long as he's having adequate moist dipes, and is gaining weight, it would not relatively count quantity. (He could be getting close to to being back to his birthweight, even with the incontrovertible fact that if he grow to be dropping/gaining little or no for the period of the 1st 3-5 days, it relatively is incredibly everyday. Your milk wasn't in yet. 30 grams is approximately an ounces -- that's approximately what you may anticipate an extremely youthful toddler to benefit in 2-3 days. do no longer weigh him on a daily basis. you will make your self loopy.) If his weight earnings relatively is low, try encouraging him to stay longer on the breast. With the golf green stools it sounds like he won't be getting adequate of the fatty hindmilk. whilst he comes off after quarter-hour, burp him and positioned him back on the comparable breast.

As long as he's not in distress - straining, turning red, or arching his back to try to go, that's perfectly fine.

The change in bowels may not even be related to the change in diet - babies' bowel habits change several times before they're a year old, and what's "normal" this week, may not be next week or next month.

that's fine- Breast milk is much easier to digest- formula will slow things down a bit. if he isn't having any bowel movements you need to see your dr.

PS Congratulations!!
