I had a ultrasound a little over two weeks ago due to pain and pressure around my ovaries, doctor found that BOTH of my ovaries were full of functional cysts, my ultrasound picture looked like two clusters of grapes, that is how many cysts there were, so we are just watching to see if they go away on their own. The number 1 treatment is birth control, which I just got off of so my husband and I could start our family, so he didn't want to put me back on. So my question is could an egg mature and release with my ovaries being so overloaded.

The doctor does not think I have PCOS, he thinks my ovaries went into shock after coming off of the pill for almost 10 years. I have another ultrasound scheduled for next week to see if there has been any change before he goes in surgically. I just wanted to know if the ovary would still try to produce an egg, in other words could I still have gotten pregnant this month. Thanks!

I think it's possible for your egg to mature while your ovaries have cysts but you should have follow ups with your doctor as much as you can to make sure everything is going well, and what is happening with the cysts, you can also ask an RE (fertility specialist) online for free to see what they think with regards to your fertility and the cysts, it'd probably be best to get their advice on this one, try www.FertilityTies.com
good luck!

I am 7 weeks pregnant and my ultasound showed last week that at least one of my ovaries had a ton of cysts on it, it did look like grapes now that I think of it. I had no problem getting pregnant so hopefully you won't either.
